By using a method of overlapping UVs, I was able to maximise the Texel density of the shelf. I translated the overlapping shells by exactly 1 in order to prevent any issues with baking.

A 3D study of a living room shelf, fitted to play DVDs from a projector. Here my challenge was getting the small details such as on the computer and keyboard and DVD covers; I ended up doing quite a bit of hand-painting in Substance Painter and Photoshop.
